Throttle does nothing, or E-02

The display is on but pressing the throttle does nothing. Often a brake switch, sometimes the throttle.

Step by step

  1. Restart without touching anything

    Switch off, let the throttle rest, switch on.

  2. Check both brake levers

    See the brake switch guide for E-04.

  3. Check the start setting

    Your manual explains zero-start vs kick-start. Try a small push off then throttle.

  4. Check the throttle

    It should spring back on its own. Look at its cable at the handlebar. A damaged throttle is a simple swap part.

Stay safe

  • A throttle that sticks on is dangerous. Do not ride until fixed.

When to take it to a shop

If the throttle itself needs replacing and you do not want to open the handlebar wiring.
