Creaks, rattles and loose bolts
Off-road scooters shake bolts loose. A monthly bolt check stops most rattles and many breakdowns.

Go over the scooter with hex keys, checking each bolt is snug.

Tools
Example photoA metric set, roughly 2 mm to 8 mm. Long-arm keys reach the recessed bolts on the stem and deck.

Example photoA Torx set (T10–T30 covers most scooters). Brake disc bolts are often Torx; check the head shape before you buy.

Step by step

- Handlebar and display clamps
Snug, handlebar straight.
- Stem and folding clamp
As in the wobble guide.
- Deck and kickstand bolts
Check the deck cover screws and the kickstand bolt.
- Axle nuts and brake bolts
Firm. Brake and axle bolts matter most.
- Threadlocker for repeat offenders
Medium strength, one drop, on a clean thread.
When to take it to a shop
This one is fine to do at home. If anything looks different from what’s described here, stop and ask a shop.
