Folding lever stuck or won’t lock
Dirt and dry pivots make the fold hard to open or close.

Look at the mechanism with a torch for dirt or bent parts.

Tools
Example photoA clean microfibre cloth or paper towel. Never one that has had oil or polish on it for brake work.

Step by step

- Clean the mechanism
Wipe out dirt and grit.
- Light grease on pivots
A small amount on moving pivots only.
- Back the clamp off slightly
If it was just adjusted, loosen the adjuster a quarter turn and test.
Stay safe
- Never ride with a clamp that does not lock fully.

Any bent or cracked folding part.
